Owners Give Back
Franchise owners are ambitious by nature, and tend to be engaged members of the communities where they do business. Whether it’s through exceptional service – ensuring that each customer leaves with a solution to their problem, or making sure that hurricane victims have enough batteries and flashlights, Batteries Plus Bulbs owners are there to help. This season of gratitude and giving seems like the perfect time to take a moment to honor some of their efforts.
“I was raised to believe that if you do well, you give back.”
Steve Cooper owns a number of franchises in the Tampa Bay, FL area, and donates and offers time to a variety of causes.
“We are especially proud to work with the YMCA in an area of Manatee County that suffers from poverty,” Cooper states. “There are lots of single-parent homes where kids might need help to stay on the right path, and to stay out of gangs and off the streets. At the Y, they’re involved in sports, camps, and receive academic help when they need it.”
Hurricane Maria left Puerto Rico devastated when it hit the island in 2017. Cesar Marin and Rolando Torres, two Batteries Plus Bulbs owners, set out immediately with their friends, employees and families to provide batteries, light bulbs and flashlights to their neighbors without power.
“The storm really connected each of our stores to their community. Even now, people still thank us for our commitment and service to the people of Puerto Rico. Everyone appreciated our efforts. It’s very gratifying for us to see how people received us with joy, humility and gratitude.”
Thank you to all the owners who continue to show up, time after time, to help their communities in times of need. We celebrate you during this season of giving.
Cheers, and happy holidays.
